Prizes
It is one of the most awarded Portuguese museums, both national and international, having been awarded the following prizes since its opening in 2008:
NATIONAL PRIZES:
2008 - Honourable Mention in the category of “Melhor Museu Português”, by Associação Portuguesa de Museologia;
2009 – Honourable Mention of “Turismo de Portugal”, in the category of “Novo Evento Público”;
2015 - Innovation and Creativity Prize for the project "A nossa cultura sai à rua" by the Associação Portuguesa de Museologia;
2019 - Honourable Mention in the category of Innovation and Creativity, in the APOM Prizes with the activity “A descarga do peixe no cais de Portimão”;
2021 – Prize “Special Mention” for the “COVID-9 – Edição especial da 21ª Corrida Fotográfica de Portimão” exhibition.

INTERNATIONAL PRIZES:
2010 – Prize “Museu Conselho da Europa 2010”, granted by Conselho da Europa;
2011 – Prize “DASA – Mundo do Trabalho 2011”, first edition of this prize granted in Dortmund, Germany;
2011 – Prize “Arara de Prata – Jovens Talentos” for the film “À conversa com Manuel Teixeira Gomes”, at the Festival Tour Film Brazil
